How it works

Three steps to your funding shortlist

  1. 1

    Tell us about your organization

Pick up to three cause areas, your state, ZIP code and budget size. It takes about a minute.

  2. 2

    We search real grant history

We read private foundation grant records from IRS Form 990-PF filings and find funders who have already given to organizations like yours.

  3. 3

The report

Everything you need to make the ask

  • Every foundation with matching grant history, ranked.
  • Real named grantees from the filings — the ones like you.
  • Total given, number of grants, median grant size, most recent year.
  • The foundation's own application contact and procedure text, verbatim.
  • A link to the actual filing for every entry.
  • Excel workbook with a tracking pipeline, plus a printable PDF.

Not a live feed of deadlines, not grant writing, and not a promise any foundation will fund you.

How we rank

The three tiers

Foundations tell the IRS whether they only fund organizations they pick themselves. That single answer, read against who they actually funded, is the core of this report.

Open

This foundation did not check the IRS box restricting itself to preselected organizations. You can approach them directly.

Worth a relationship

They checked the box, but their grantee list shows genuinely new names year over year, meaning they do add organizations. The path is an introduction, not a cold application.

Skip

They checked the box and fund the same organizations every year. Counted in your totals for honesty, excluded from your prospect list.

Questions

Frequently asked

What data is the report built on?

IRS Form 990-PF filings — the public returns private foundations file each year. They show which organizations each foundation funded and how much it gave.

Which states are covered?

We are still loading grant history for every state. Run the free preview for your state first — it shows exactly how many matching foundations we have before you pay anything.

How is this different from subscription grant databases?

There is no subscription, no training and no manual filtering. You describe your organization once and get a ranked list built for it, for a single one-time price.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. You can request a refund within 14 days of purchase. A refund ends access to that report. The Refund Policy has the full details. Read the Refund Policy.

Is $149 reasonable for a small nonprofit?

One foundation you would not otherwise have found can be worth far more than the report. And the free preview lets you judge the match count before you spend anything.
